Traffic lights at the Hatanpään valtatie–Tampereen valtatie junction will be switched on overnight between 10–11 September, turning the junction into a four-way intersection; Jokikatu will open as a one-way street southbound.

Traffic lights at the intersection of Hatanpään valtatie and Tampereen valtatie will be switched on overnight between Thursday and Friday, 10–11 September, turning the junction into a four-way intersection. The change forms part of a wider tram and street renewal along Hatanpään valtatie that began in April when tram track construction expanded along the street. Night-time work to install tram wires began in July and continued through the summer.

The City of Tampere says Jokikatu will open as a one-way street heading south from Viinikka toward Hatanpää. Expect changes overnight.

City officials will monitor the new signals and adjust their timing as the Pirkkala–Linnainmaa alliance working on the Tampere tramway completes finishing works at the junction; overhead wires will be installed later. Turning directions at the junction will be returned to match the street plans and the pre-construction layout. Two-way traffic on Jokikatu is due later this autumn when the Viinikanlahti bridge is finished, at which point traffic lights will also be installed at the Jokikatu–Hatanpään valtatie intersection. Final traffic arrangements for the entire tramway route are planned for 2027, with passenger services on sections of the line scheduled to begin in August 2028.
